We offer a full service for 1 week (7 days) for 2 persons:

A more extended stay with us is possible, it can be individually arranged. If you wish to continue your German or European trip after the week with us, we can arrange a rental car for you.

We can accommodate up to 3 guests and are well equipped to also support a person with limited mobility or an         elderly person. 

Our living quarters are located on the 2nd floor of our historic, family-owned building, where an automatic stairlift can accommodate guests with limited mobility, should they not be able to use the stairs. Your shower entrance is also very low with just 1-2 inches of height, allowing an easy, secure step-in for guests with limited mobility.

Free Airport pick up and drop off in BREMEN, (BRE), Germany.

We are also able to pick you up from Amsterdam Schiphol Int. Airport, Frankfurt Int. Airport or from Hamburg Int. Airport. Please consider that driving time is about 2-5 hours one way from us to Amsterdam, Hamburg or Frankfurt. (Additional fees for these extended airport pick-ups do apply, please check with us).

An airport pick-up from Frankfurt would involve a car ride taking up to 5 hours, deducting valuable hours from your allotted time frame.

Most bigger Airlines offer connecting flights from Amsterdam, Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin to BREMEN, which is only 60 miles or 1 hour away from Apen.

You stay with us in our big old traditional home in Apen.

We reside on the very spacious 2nd floor, where our living rooms, the Pool Billiard room and the kitchen are shared with you, our guests.

Our private guest quarters are located in an extra section within the rear of our home. Our comfortable, beautiful   bedroom is equipped with a king size bed, the bathroom has been upgraded with modern amenities (large shower,     toilet, bidet). In case you wish to accommodate an extra person, we are offering an extra room right next to your   bedroom, furnished with a new sleeper sofa.

All meals are included!

We start the day with you enjoying a traditional German breakfast with fresh rolls and bread from the local bakery, eggs in any style you like, cheese, ham, sausage, honey, fruits, etc. You will love it!

After breakfast, we start our excursions to the original homesteads of your ancestors.                                                         We'll be riding in a  comfortable, late-model Mercedes-Benz Camper, Type Marco-Polo, which is equipped with a kitchen and a built in refrigirator, allowing us to enjoy some coffee-/tea-time during our scenic ride.                           The air-conditioned Camper offers three leather seats for passengers, in addition to the driver's seat.

We are able to approach each town in East Frisia, including its picturesque North Sea coast (as well as locations in the Ammerland, Friesland and Oldenburg counties), which are estimated driving time of approximately 1 hour,       encompassing a radius of 60 miles around Apen.

Our home town of Apen is centrally located right at the edge of the county line between the Ammerland (Oldenburg County) and East Frisia!

Our offer includes all trips within a range of approx. 60 miles around Apen, but we can also drive to ancestral             locations and other places where your ancestors have lived, that are a bit further away. En route, we do have the ability to enjoy sandwiches, bratwurst, and other locally sourced delicacies.

Please inquire about additional fees for day trips that reach beyond the radius of 60 miles one way.

During our custom-planned rides, we will be able to stop at all places that interest you, be it small towns,                 homesteads, churches, cemeteries, museums, archives and the like.

We propose a visit of the Auswandererhaus in Bremerhaven, where all the emigrants left on ships for the new world. A visit is impressive and you might find the names of your ancestors on the passenger list of the vessels. Entrance fee is included. Bremerhaven is about 60 miles or 1 hour and 15 Minutes drive from us.

Later in the afternoon, depending of the time of our return home to Apen, we'll be able to share some delicious, home-baked cakes and pastries, accompanied by coffee or tea. In the evening, we will partake in a traditional, home-cooked German dinner, prepared by my wife Anne, your hostess. You will NOT be disappointed! All sorts of drinks will be available for you also. We might also include a visit at one of our traditional, near-by restaurants that offer local fare.

On warm summer days, we enjoy barbecuing outside on our expansive, southern exposure garden patio equipped with a real lawn and flower beds, up on the 2nd floor. There's ample space to relax, sharing conversations and         enjoying the extended, sunny northern evenings.

Besides, we love to share our big garden, located at the rear of the property. Here we enjoy grilling steaks, chicken and bratwurst etc. on our large outdoor grill.
